Jinx -- can I just say I have a strong dislike for this word? It's fairly common - yet rarely used in long time traditional "passed down" witch stuff (haha - I love that I can be informal here). I suppose a jinx can be similar to a hex, just with perhaps less intent. Not as serious? Baby hex? I don't know.

Again, no matter how you feel about the term, or what you feel may be a better term, I would utilize anything that has gray or dark areas carefully.
