#Metrics - How Well Does Twitter Promote Work? #WritingCommunity #Marketing
Ever wonder how well the Twitter Promote option works for getting visibility on your tweet? I have a Twitter acquaintance that was nice enough to share their metrics with me. Do you have an example? Please email me if you would like to share results: salemdevina@gmail.com
They ran their promo for 5 days at $10/day (though twitter's initial suggestion is $100/day).
64% or the 11 retweets came from the promotion. And 1/3 of the comments were a result of the promotion.
Looking closer, 91% (2354 of 2600) of the tweet impressions were from the promotion. They also claim that ALL of the engagement was due to their promote feature as well as 65% of the detail expansions.
In my opinion, it seems they are not directing toward the right audience based on used hashtags. If you can get over 2300 people to a tweet, why are there only 82 (0.036% of 2300) engagements and 16.9 (65% of 26) people to expand on the tweet?
Additionally, the 2300+ impressions from the tweet promotion gained them NO new follows as well about 2 (40% of 5) profile visits.
This tells me that TWO out over over 2300 (!!!) people actually looked into the person tweeting to find out more about them and the info they are providing within the tweet.
THIS IS A HUGE FAIL!!!!
Additionally NOT ONE of over 2300 decided to follow the user.
Is twitter using fake accounts to provide their metrics for their promote function?
The promoted to audience seems to be able 50/50.
They did select 18+ for their promotion. And they have been rethinking, since their tweet was to authors, to next time try 30+ -- possibly 20+
You can see here, it was only shared within their country.
Would it be better going to other countries who utilize the English language as well?
And this shows the actual number of engagements that the promote was to have provided.
I repeat: Is twitter using fake accounts/BOTS, rather than sharing with real contributors, to provide their metrics for their promote function?
