Let's talk about Familiars.

I have opted for mine to be an Odinn axe pendant. I was taught early on that we do not wish this position on people or animals as it's often a source that will take some of your pain or negativity away. I would NEVER place this on another human or animal that I am supposed to love.

    I was just reading something last night about a "Dragon Witch" that used a pile of gold and gems as her familiar. The hoard was mystically connected to the spirits of dragons where she got her instructions.
    I thought it was kind of cool. Fiction of course, not part of a real-world practice, but it was a nice change from the old black cat or raven familiar.

    Interesting. I've never heard of it as an inanimate object, but it makes perfect sense.
